As for your questions about CoolSculpting Elite, Sculpt Spa experts will answer everything from costs to side effects.
The CoolSculpting procedure was invented by Dieter Manstein of the Massachusetts General Hospital and Rox Anderson of Harvard Medical School. In 2008, they created the early prototype as a method to deliver cryolipolysis to mammals for testing.
Cryolipolysis is fat freezing. It was originally observed in situations with kids where if they sucked on enough popsicles, they would develop dimples in their cheeks. Further study showed that when frozen, fat cells die, and the body purges them naturally.
The device Manstein and Anderson developed underwent clinical trials later in 2008 and earned an exclusive license to commercialize the technology. In 2010, CoolSculpting was first approved by the FDA for the treatment of fat on flanks (aka our sides). The FDA approved its use for the stomach in 2012.
In 2015 more applicators were introduced, and a new model for the thighs was approved. CoolSculpting Elite is now FDA-cleared to treat visible fat bulges in nine areas of the body including the thigh, abdomen, and flank, along with bra fat, “love handles,” underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll), upper arm, and the double chin area.
6 More Questions Answered About CoolSculpting Elite
Here are six more great questions we get asked about CoolSculpting Elite Las Vegas Nevada:
1. Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting Elite Las Vegas?
If you are at an appropriate BMI, there is a good chance you are a good candidate. If you have stubborn areas of fat that just won’t go away, no matter how much you diet or exercise, then you may be perfect for CoolSculpting Las Vegas. Coolsculpting is not necessarily a treatment for everyone. Coolsculpting won’t work if a client’s fat layer is too thick. At Sculpt Spa Las Vegas, your treatment plan begins with your personalized, one-on-one consultation with our highly trained and friendly experts. We can discuss your medical history, current body contouring efforts, and certain areas of the body that are causing the most concern. We’ll answer your questions and recommend if CoolSculpting is the right treatment for you. Be aware, some patients won’t see changes unless they repeat the treatment several times in the same area.
2. Will I lose weight with CoolSculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss program. It is proven to be an effective treatment for reducing fat in problem areas. It is a contouring or sculpting procedure that modifies the distribution of fat cells to change the shape of your body, therefore, results are not related to weight. It is a tool to eliminate diet and exercise resistant fat pockets. The closer you are to your ideal body weight, the more you will see your CoolSculpting results. Sculpt Spa recommends a healthy lifestyle that includes proper diet and exercise to augment and support your CoolSculpting results. Check out our other blog articles on lifestyle tips!
3. CoolSculpting vs Liposuction – which is better for me?
Liposuction is surgery with associated risks, pain and downtime. CoolSculpting is proven to be an effective treatment for reducing fat in problem areas. It is also non-invasive with no needles, no anesthesia, and no surgery. The Sculpt Spa CoolSculpting Elite Las Vegas process uses controlled cooling to target and freeze fat cells, without harming the surrounding skin or tissue. The treatment itself can take as little as 45 minutes, and there is no downtime.
4. Are Cool Sculpting Elite results permanent?
As an adult, your body no longer forms new fat cells. The ones not killed in the CoolSculpting process are subject to enlarging or decreasing in size depending on your weight and eating habits. CoolSculpting permanently destroys a percentage of your fat cells, thus decreasing the total bulk of fat at the treated area. Once the fat cells are frozen and eliminated, they are gone for good. Those cells won’t be replaced.
5. How much fat is lost by a single treatment?
You could see up to 25% fat reduction in the targeted area. Also, CoolSculpting does not target visceral fat—the fat that is wrapped around intra-abdominal organs. A consistent diet and exercise regimen will help reach that layer in your body.
6. Can I return to work the same day I get treatment?
Yes. You can return to work after your treatment. You can even do a moderate exercise routine later in the day.
